Did you catch the start of the series Coastal Path on BBC1 this week? It was so lovely to see our beautiful coastline. They have very kindly sent me the schedule seeing as it goes practically over our doorstep.

24th August:  Episode 1 – Minehead – Hartland Point (Somerset and North Devon)

31st August: Episode 2 – Marsland – Sennen Cove (North Cornwall)

7th Sept: Episode 3 – Porthcurno – Kingsand/Cawsand (South Cornwall)

14th Sept: Episode 4 – Plymouth – Orcombe Point (South Devon)

21st Sept: Episode 5 – Ladram Bay to South Haven Point (Jurassic Coast)

So the 7th of Septemeber is ‘our’ section. The SWCP brings many folks our way because we are so close by – only 2mins from the path (as well as the beach!) – and also we’re a good place to stop and start for people who are walking in sections because of work/family restrictions.  Only 5mins walk  to the train station and 20 mins to Bus terminus……..

An economic alternative to camping for a treat or if the weather is misbehaving…..I could go on!!
Also, there is a challenge too. Anyone up for a challenge? Details below.

Falmouth Lodge Backpackers has been thinking long and hard about re-opening after the Covid19 lockdown.  It certainly saddens us, but we really feel, “hand-on-heart” that we will not be able to keep you as Covid-Safe as we would be comfortable with, at this point in time, and in the current environment.

We are therefore, not going to open this year, but will be re-opening in the Spring of 2021 with newly organised rooms, giving everyone more space, plus extra bathroom procedures installed, for everyone’s health protection.  We will also be promoting the exciting option of renting the whole hostel for your large family, or group, holiday by the sea, in Cornwall!!

The essence of hostelling is on the enjoyment of shared accommodation and socialising spaces, so we really hope that we’ll be able to return to this again next year when we will know even more about this virus, and may have developed better ways of living with it.

Wishing you all a great summer; STAY WELL, and see you next year!!
